Fehlende Konzentration,1985 Charcoal on paper, set of 3, 39 x 53 cm © Miriam Cahn Miriam Cahn's Fehlende Konzentration (Lack of Concentration) is from the body of charcoal drawings made in the mid-1980s. With dimensions extending up to 4 x 9 metres in some cases, she would execute the drawings crouched on the floor, lending the works great immediacy and physical intensity. Often featuring shadowy human figures and animal forms, her direct, sweeping gestures express a certain sombreness and anxiety. |
